Corona Virus is causing a historic rise in mental health problems. Whether you have lost a job, not able to pay the bills, or have just suffered from isolation, there are 3 ways in which one can go about curing or helping their mental health.
Mental health is very important because it is the lens in which we see the world. When it comes to success in any area of your life it is important that your mental health comes first. The three largest investments that people take risks on this day in age are Health, Wealth and Relationships. Without having stable mental health all three of these are normally on the downfall and then it opens up a whole new world where you seem to not be able to take control of anything in your life.
Mediation is the number one way to carry out self care because it releases a chemical in the brain which allows you to refocus itself no matter what thoughts your brain may be having. Refocusing of the brain allows you to ignore bad thoughts and centralize your thoughts which gives you power over your thoughts.
When starting meditation practices, it is highly stressed to not do a lot at once. I would suggest just starting out doing it 5 minutes a day, just a little bit at a time so that you do not get overwhelmed. A lot of people try to do it for 20 minutes when they first start out and can not which leads to more frustration. The brain likes small wins so just taking 5 minutes to meditate when you wake up or right before you go to bed could be great for your mental health.
2. Eat Healthy
I am sure everyone has heard before that eating healthy is one of the best ways to improve mental health. This is completely true but yet many do not implement this into their daily lives due to laziness or just not having the will power. When having a healthy balance of carbs, protein, and minerals it allows your body to have a better reaction which allows your brain to feel more at ease. When the brain starts to feel more at ease you will then notice more clarity and feeling of confidence when going about your day.
3. Read Books
Educational reading is probably one of the best ways to lower anxiety and tap into self-care. There is endless knowledge out in the world and when learning about new ways to deal with pressure from credible sources it could help a lot. Some books that I suggest to read are “Think and Grow Rich” and also “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. Both of these books are meant to be on the financial side of the spectrum but have very good insight when it comes to psychology and how to have a stronger mentality. When you read you start to realize how small your problems are to how much there is out there and you are able to open a whole new perspective on life.
Mental Health is VERY IMPORTANT. Any successful person that you have the pleasure of meeting will talk about this subject before they even talk about physical health, relationships or money. They have mastered the way to think and grow which has allowed them to become successful in all areas of their lives. Do not sit back and let this pandemic control you. Do not freeze, keep moving, be like water moving down a stream, you hit a rock and keep moving and know that the worst times will always end up turning into better.
